Assessment is a process of inquiry to ensure student learning outcomes are well-articulated and that students are achieving the goals intended by Chapman and each academic program. Under the guidance of the Office of Accreditation and Assessment, program faculty and the Assessment Committee gather and analyze evidence of student learning and use this information to continuously enhance curricula and the student experience.
Assessment of learning outcomes occurs on a 3-year schedule, with each program learning outcome (PLO) assessed at least once during the cycle. Programs complete an Annual Learning Outcomes Assessment Report (ALOAR) in Nuventive for each PLO on the schedule in a given year. The ALOAR is peer reviewed by a designated Assessment Committee member and the Office of Accreditation and Assessment who provide feedback and recommendations on the assessment process, results, and plans to close the loop.
